Anonymous permissions for a list in SharePoint 2010

I’m about to create a list for user registration on SharePointforum.com and had the strange issue that the anonymous access was grayed out:

The solution to this issue is to go to the list/library settings and choose advanced settings and configure the item-level permissions like this:

List/library settings:

Then go to the permissions configuration for the list/library and choose to “stop inherit permission” and Click on Anonymous Access:

You will now be able to configure anonymous access permissions for your list/library!
