Upgrade SharePoint 2010 to SQL 2012

Start by upgrading Windows 2008 R2 to SP1:

Standalone Version (x86, x64 and IA64)

Also, make sure that you have sp1 on your SQL 2008 R2:

Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 Service Pack 1

1. Insert the SQL 2012 media:

2. Click installation and choose upgrade SQL Installation:

3. Click ok on the setup support files:

4. Click next on the product updates page:

5. Click next on the setup support rules page:

7. Click next on the product key page:

image

7. Check the box for “i accept the licence terms” and click next

8. Choose the instance you want to upgrade and click next:

9. Click next on the select features page:

10. Make sure that the “Continue with the upgrade” check box is checked and click next:

11. Click next on the instance configuration page:

12. Make sure everything is ok on the disk space requirements page and click next:

13. Click next on the server configuration page:

14. Click next on the full-text upgrade page:

image

15. Click next on the Reporting Services SharePoint mode Authentication page:

16. Click next on the Error Reporting page:

17. Make sure that everything is ok and click next:

image

18. Click upgrade on the ready to upgrade page.

19: Make sure you can use your SharePoint sites and Central Admin!
